Vehicles
All of our vehicles are Hackney Carriages, licenced by South Hams District Council. We have to adhere to strict standards laid down by the council (e.g.Age limits for vehicles, mechanical tests etc.). Each vehicle has a council issued plate attached to the rear detailing the vehicle hackney licence number, make and registration number of the vehicle together with the amount of passengers it is licenced to carry.
Each vehicle is fitted with council approved taxi meters which are checked by their officers, thereby ensuring the fares are standard throughout the whole of the Council District.
A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are carried in each vehicle as standard.
Drivers
Each driver has been assessed by South Hams District Council Hackney Carriage Officer for driving ability, and have to undergo a medical. They have regular Criminal Records Bureau checks, enabling them to work with children and vulnerable persons. All done for your safety and peace of mind. Each driver will display his own Hackney Carriage licence within the vehicle, as issued by the council.
